Debut, is a fascinating compendium of the last 30 years of rock. Call it ambient post-doom. Call it alchemic psych-rock, only without all the freeform guitar freakouts. The band is heavy complete with metal riffs and pounding drums, while their music slides off into the drone genre. What might surprise is BLACK MATH HORSEMAN has a female lead in Sera Timms, which sounds close to a current PJ HARVEY as her vocals help guide the way out. "wyllt" was produced by Scott Reeder (Kyuss) and the results are probably not coincidental as the debut has decent length tracks and a killer eleven minute closer, which bundles many styles of rock and really offers up something different to check out.
